Purpose

Trust is more than a value we talk about in company meetings—it’s the invisible engine that determines whether organizations thrive, merely survive, or fall apart. I am Michael Rabinowitz and over the course of 30+ years as an executive, board member, speaker, entrepreneur, and coach, I’ve seen firsthand how trust can empower teams to innovate, align around a shared purpose, and navigate uncertainty. I’ve also witnessed how its absence erodes even the most promising strategies.

This blog represents my opportunity to share what I’ve learned—and what I’m still learning—about trust as the foundation of effective leadership. Here, I’ll explore not only the concepts and frameworks that have proven valuable in practice, but also the real-world application that make-or-break careers: How do leaders intentionally build trust? What are the pitfalls that jeopardize it? And how can trust be mobilized as a true strategic asset, not just a soft ideal? What to do when trust is broken?

What to Expect

The first few posts will set the stage by defining trust and laying out the business case for why trust is indispensable for leaders at every level. I will quickly move to valuable insights and practical takeaways that will help leaders elevate their understanding and application of trust to inspire others and drive performance. Alongside the blogs, I’ll also be publishing podcast episodes where I speak directly with leaders and newsmakers from business, healthcare, the military, entertainment, and beyond about trust and leadership. These conversations will bring the theory to life—through stories of success and failure, daily habits, best practices, and those pivotal “aha” moments that change everything.

The blog and podcast are designed to complement each other, alternating every other week. While the blog allows me to reflect, analyze, and connect ideas, the podcast captures real voices and experiences directly from leaders in their fields. My hope is that, together, they provide you with both practical guidance and fresh inspiration as you think about trust in your own leadership journey.
